Separation

My eyes seek everywhere, but do not find

you. I listen, for the sound of your voice,

but no longer hear its sweet sound.

Moments pass by, like clouds drifting away.

and, deep within my soul, I am lost within a

storm of my own making.

I exist between light and darkness, aware

of nothing but misery, as I am battered

back and forth by endless feelings,which
threaten to drown me within the emptiness
of my world

How is it that I have allowed you to leave

me, without even asking why? Was it my

foolish pride, that caused your tears to fall

within the shallowness of my being?

Memories of us together, break the stillness

of the night, and accuse me, even though my
hardened heart cannot reply.

I thought we would always be together, but it

is not to be. As I kiss your lips once more and

hold you close within my dreams, I keep yearning
for the time when both our hearts beat together
but now, have gone, their Separate ways.
