By night, I still see your eyes. As memories
of our love shine like stars within my mind.
We both shared, the pleasures of our love
until you betrayed my heart. Now, the pain
resonates within, as feelings of anger come
and go, amidst the anguish left behind.
I seek to heal my broken dreams, but all I
can do is ask myself why? While listening
to our favorite songs, as life slowly passes
me by.
I thought I knew you, but I was wrong.
We kissed, and then you disappeared, like
some cruel illusion. You vanished from my
life. Only to reappear one day, arm in arm,
with someone new.
The taste of your sweet lies, still fresh within,
sends poison throughout my entire being,
as I try to make sense of something that has
never been.
My thoughts of beautiful things to come have
now come to a bitter end. Destroyed, the
fantasy I once held dear. Reduced to an ever
fleeting image, of a mirage!
